I’ve been downright underwhelmed by what I’ve glimpsed of Boom’s Disney output. I haven’t yet bought any of it, but the little I’ve scanned leaves me cold. I get they want to tap a new younger marker with this stuff, and I don’t grudge them trying, but it’s not for me.

I’ve grown to adore the vintage stuff, and even this collection seems light in that regard. The price point is well outside my range for an optional collection like this.

I would imagine the extra exposure (given Hulu’s immense popularity) doesn’t hurt anything, and probably even drives more than a few fans to a purchase on iTunes.

Excellent point about Maleev’s storytelling by the way Lan.

I really dig the series, but still find it weird for them to offer it for free. Bendis got Jessica down pat, but it’s almost too wordy at time because Maleev’s art almost tells the story by itself.

The “good ol’ days” indeed! When heroes were heroes because it was the right thing to do and entertainment stories didn’t have to involve murder, rape and incessant tourtured hand-wringing. :-/

Understood Rip, the X-folk have given me pain in the past as well, but also a lot of joy — so when a good creative team comes along, like Davis-Farmer-Fraction, I’ll usually jump at the chance to join in on an adventure again.

Well the X-folk generally give me a pain, but Alan Davis is scrumptious, so I gave this preview a look. I’ll pass.

I did like that they identified the heroes with little captions. How long have they been doing that. It’s a good thing.
