Fire Emblem Theme

Well, I finally got the chance to sink my teeth back into FE9: Path of Radiance & FE6: Fuuin no Tsurugi (Sword of Seals) for a few hours while I was home sick earlier this week (who says there aren’t at least a few benefits to being under the weather?) and with the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl in just a few days I’m that much more excited about jumping right back into the series where both titles are concerned. In SSBB, I definitely can’t wait to play as Sonic, Samus, Mario & the rest of my childhood favorites, but there’s no getting around the fact that I’m looking forward to playing the FE characters the most, be it Ike or the others that made their way into the game. Their inclusion was the straw that broke the camel’s back and I’ve had it pre-ordered for months now as a result.

Here’s to hoping that Ike & Co. etch their way into more than a few Nintendo fan’s hearts and that we’ll continue to see Fire Emblem’s popularity spread here in the U.S.

Anyhow, here’s a sample of FE’s famous theme music masterfully presented by the following for your enjoyment:

Lyrics Supervisor : Masahiro Sakurai
Translation Supervisor : Taro Yamashita
Composition Supervisor : Yuka Tsujiyoko
Arrangement Supervisor : Shogo Sakai
Director : Taizo Takemoto
Soprano : Oriko Takahashi
Tenor : Ken Nishikiori

Fire Emblem, companions walk
The endless path together.

In the wavering shadow of spite,
Our home is faced by the oncoming spear,
Engulfed in flames.

I keep that unforgettable day in my heart
And now rise up together with my companions.

Fire Emblem, our bond shall be never broken.

We hold fast to protect tomorrow
And the one who awaits our return.

Fire Emblem, light gathers on the flag we unfurl.

Fire Emblem, we gaze upon the multitude of stars,
Gripping our blades.

If we do not bring light to the darkness in these lands,
The shooting stars will soar over a wasteland.

Fire Emblem, on whom does the morning sun shine
As she climbs over the edge of battle?
