I’ve always loved these Justice Society group shots, and the two most recent images (seen here) rank right up there with the best of ’em! Jerry Ordway is no stranger to these characters, or the JSA group shot, so it puts a smile on my face to see his classic rendition of the characters (including Infinity Inc.) in this setting once again. I don’t know that anyone quite captures the feel of a group photo like this than Ordway. And with the second image, Dale Eaglesham really knocks it out of the park in his own right! He’s a fantastic storyteller and that ability is on full display in so many of the gags and character moments we get here…and don’t miss the more “reverent” portrait on the canvas there to the right that adds a whole other dimension to the piece.
Now, I’d love it if someone could tell me the issue these shots appeared in? Asumming they appear in a single issue? I’ll do some searching of my own, in the meantime. Thanks!
[Update: It appears that the Eaglesham group shot can be found in the recent Justice Society of America Annual #1, which I do own. I’ll try to confirm this later.]
